WEDDINGS AT ST. NICHOLAS ABBEY
The estate offers a range of venues to suit weddings of different sizes and styles, from intimate ceremonies to large celebrations. A dedicated Weddings and Events team works with couples to plan the day, and an external wedding planner can be recommended where additional coordination is needed.
Wedding favours inspired by the estate are available, including miniature bottles of St Nicholas Abbey Rum, which can be inscribed with names and a wedding date. Locally made preserves, rum cakes, seasonings, and other plantation products can also be arranged as guest gifts or welcome hampers.
Note: while wedding guests may tour the Great House depending on the size of the wedding party, it is not available for ceremonies or receptions, though it provides a distinctive backdrop for photographs.
WEDDING VENUES
CAFÉ TERRACE
Located behind the Great House, the Café Terrace sits within the Rum Bond and House Museum building, a restored stone structure featuring historic rum barrels, antique artefacts, a wrought-iron chandelier, and candelabras. The split-level terrace overlooks a deep tropical gully filled with palms, and is suitable for both ceremonies and receptions.
Smaller daytime weddings can be accommodated with a champagne and canapés reception, champagne brunch, or intimate luncheon. For larger celebrations, the terrace can be arranged for cocktail receptions or a seated dinner. The Café Terrace can be combined with the Sandbox Tree Courtyard for larger events.
- Daytime weddings: up to 25 guests (non-exclusive use during opening hours)

SANDBOX TREE COURTYARD
The original stable yard between the Great House and Rum Bond has been restored as an open courtyard. At its centre stands a 400-year-old Hura crepitans, known locally as the "monkey-no-climb" tree for its distinctive spines. The courtyard is suitable for wedding receptions, cocktail parties, and seated dinners. The courtyard can be combined with the Café Terrace to create a larger event space.

As the courtyard is open to the elements, tents are recommended in case of rain. A dance floor may also be advisable due to the cobblestone surface.
MANGO TREE LAWN
Adjacent to the Great House, the Mango Tree Lawn is suitable for both ceremonies and receptions. Guests arrive through the front gardens along a natural pathway framed by bougainvillea and overhanging mango trees.

For larger celebrations held on the Croquet Lawn, the Mango Tree Lawn is often used for the ceremony or pre-reception cocktails. Tents and flooring are recommended in the event of rain.
CROQUET LAWN
For large celebrations, the Croquet Lawn sits opposite the Great House, surrounded by sugar cane fields, with open views across the estate. In the evening, the Great House is illuminated, providing a backdrop for receptions and photographs.

Cocktail receptions can be held beforehand on the Café Terrace or in the Sandbox Tree Courtyard before guests move to the Croquet Lawn for the main reception.
Due to the scale of events typically hosted here, weddings on the Croquet Lawn must be fully self-contained, including catering kitchens, washrooms, power supply, dance floors, and other event infrastructure. These services are not included in the venue hire, and the use of an event planner is required. All weddings of 120 persons or more must be held on the Croquet Lawn.
