St Nicholas Abbey, Steam Railway and Distillery
Jacobean Plantation House, Steam Railway and Rum Distillery, Barbados
Completed in late 2018, the St Nicholas Abbey Heritage Railway offers a glimpse into the plantation’s landscape, winding through sugar cane fields, tropical gullies, and iconic viewpoints such as Cherry Tree Hill. The steam-powered train combines a scenic journey with a touch of living history. Guests even have the opportunity to step out and help operate the turntable, moving the locomotive onto different tracks.
Departures leave from the railway station, where visitors will also find a small café and gift shop. Here you can purchase St Nicholas Abbey Heritage Railway memorabilia, as well as a selection of St Nicholas Abbey rum and plantation products. Please note that rum bottles purchased at the railway shop cannot be inscribed.
