Flower Forest Botanical Gardens

Flower Forest Botanical Gardens occupies 53 acres of former sugar plantation in the hills of Barbados, transformed into botanical gardens in 1983 by Don Hill, with layouts designed by Richard Coghlan from Kew Gardens and support from a group of garden enthusiasts.

Originally part of the Richmond sugar plantation in the 1800s, the property is now run by David Spieler, who also runs Earthworks Pottery nearby.

The gardens bloom year-round, with walking trails winding through palms, orchids, flowering trees, and tropical planting, with lookout points offering panoramic views across the countryside and the eastern coastline. The gardens are designed to be enjoyed at a leisurely pace, making them perfect for families, nature lovers, and photographers alike.
