Earthworks Pottery

Earthworks Pottery sits on a breezy ridge in St Thomas, its facade covered in a mosaic of terracotta tile and the Earthworks signature blues and greens, visible from the road before you've reached the door. Inside, a team of twelve Bajan potters produces over 150 shapes across 45 patterns: everything from plates and fish platters to mugs, jugs, teapots and vases, each piece hand-decorated and made to be used.

The studio was founded by Goldie Spieler, who arrived from Canada as a watercolor painter and discovered that Barbados' pottery tradition was quietly dying out. She called her mission to revive it "the cause." Her son David runs the studio today. Goldie, now in her nineties, still comes in to make pinch pots.

Visitors are encouraged to walk around the studio and watch the potters in action. Custom orders are welcome. Earthworks ships internationally.
