Coco Hill Forest is a 53-acre agrotourism project featuring 3.5kms of hiking trails overlooking the rugged east coast of Barbados and taking you through over 70 species of tropical fruit trees, herbs, and spices.
Committed to a more food secure and climate-resilient Barbados, we look for sustainable ways to grow food locally, to rebuild the biodiversity that was once present on the island, and to repair the ecosystem and prevent soil erosion, which were both affected by sugarcane monoculture – this starts with spending more time in the forest. That is why we invite all, Barbadians and visitors alike, to come discover Barbados in a different way.
On the east hill, we are looking to preserve the rare and unique biodiversity of one of the last pieces of primary forest standing on the island, as over 90% of it has been cut down already.
Visit our coconut nursery, one of the first on the island, which looks to create sustainable links between farmers, agroprocessors and consumers across the coconut industry in Barbados. Our coconut nursery ensures propagation of coconut trees on the island, as well as research and monitoring on genetics, pests and diseases in the coconut sector.
