The Caribbean Wax Museum

Location

The museum is upstairs in the Norman Centre in central Bridgetown — take the escalator. The figures are packed in close, each backed by a simple curtain or printed screen rather than a designed set. The setting is functional rather than polished. What it has instead is density: seventy-odd figures and the stories behind them, and a guided tour that makes sense of all of it.

$10 USD / $20 BBD per person

The Tour

Frances guides visitors through the collection herself, explaining the story behind each figure and demonstrating the process: she can show how each individual hair is inserted by hand with a sewing needle, the same painstaking technique used on every beard, mustache, and hairline in the room.

Allow approximately 45 minutes for a visit. Maximum six visitors at a time; book ahead for groups.

The nearest car park is the City Centre multi-storey, around a 5-minute walk away. Taxis and public transport are also straightforward.
