Master potter Hamilton Wiltshire, together with his wife Dale, continues the proud Barbadian tradition of working with locally sourced red clay to create distinctive, handcrafted pottery.
At their countryside studio in St. Thomas, you can watch the full creative process unfold — clay shaped by hand at the wheel, pieces drying in the tropical air, and kilns firing on site — as well as the intricate hand-finishing and detailed carving that give each piece its unique character.
Afterwards, browse a collection of one-of-a-kind ceramics and thoughtfully crafted souvenirs shaped by decades of skill, innovation, and passion.
Every piece is 100% Barbadian, made from red clay sourced from the Scotland District on the island’s east coast.
Hamilton’s Pottery stands out for its originality and creativity — most notably in the striking La Soufrière glaze series, crafted using volcanic ash collected after the 2021 eruption, transforming a powerful natural event into beautifully finished Barbadian ceramics.
