Guided Tours
The museum is interactive and well signposted — you can move through it at your own pace without a guide. For those who want more depth, guided tours are included in the price of admission, last approximately 45 minutes, and depart every hour from 9:30am–11:30am and 1:30pm–3:30pm. Ask at the desk on arrival.
Admission
- BBD $20 per adult
- BBD $12 per child (ages 5–12)
- Free for children under 5
Accessibility
- The museum and galleries are wheelchair and pushchair friendly, with a lift to all floors. A gender-neutral wheelchair-accessible bathroom is on the ground floor.
- Interactive displays feature audio and tactile stations for visitors.
Tips for Visitors
- The museum is still widely known locally as the Masonic Temple or the Lodge; asking for either will get you there faster than Exchange Museum. There is a car park directly outside, though driving in Bridgetown can be tricky.
- Drinks and snacks are available in the gift shop and can be taken to the courtyard. The shop also carries a small selection of books on Barbados history.
- Don't miss the coin press on the ground floor: for 1 BBD you hand-crank your own Barbadian dollar. Ask at the desk if you need the coin.
